Wrist and Hand pain can be caused by many conditions. Stiff, painful hands and numbness can affect a person's daily life as well as their ability to perform functional tasks. Wrist and hand pain can start gradually or could be a result of sudden trauma.
Common causes of wrist and hand pain are:
- Carpal tunnel syndrome
- Dupuytren´s contractual
- Skier´s thumb
- Fractures
Depending on their condition, each patient will exhibit different symptoms and experience different levels of pain. A patient may experience swelling, thickening of tendon or trauma in the hand and wrist area. Symptoms from a variety of injuries may also include tingling sensations, numbness, and weakness in fingers.
