Treatment for Hip Conditions

Hip Pain can be caused by many conditions in and around hip joint. A patient may also get referred pain to their hips from their lower back. Other problems in the lower extremity, like improper gait, can also cause hip pain. 

The most common causes for hip pain are:

  • Muscle strain
  • Ligament sprain
  • Arthritis
  • Trochanteric Bursitis
  • Tendonitis
  • Laberal Hip tear
  • Avascular necrosis
  • Tumor
  • Femoro-acetabular impingement
  • Nerve entrapment
  • Snapping hip
  • Joint replacement

Depending on their condition, each patient will exhibit different symptoms and experience different levels of pain. Pain can happen in the hip joint itself, on the outer side, or inner side and buttocks area. Inside joint pain is common with arthritis, avascular necrosis, and laberal tears. Outer hip pain is common with trochanteric bursitis. Inner hip pain is common with groin strain. Buttocks area pain could be hip pain or radiating from back.
